Welcome to Totnes BSAC!

We are proud to be one of the largest and friendliest dive clubs in the country, bringing people together to share their love of diving. Established in 1973, we are a branch of the British Sub Aqua Club and currently have around 100 members from the local area and beyond.

As a volunteer-run organization, our focus is purely on enjoying the sport we love. All membership fees directly support diving activities and help maintain our club’s equipment and facilities. Our dedicated instructors and dive managers, who generously give their time and expertise, ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all members.

South Devon’s underwater world is nothing short of extraordinary. With visibility often reaching 20-30 metres, the clear waters reveal a vibrant and colourful marine ecosystem. Divers can explore a dazzling array of sea life, from schools of fish darting through the currents to intricate coral formations and hidden nooks teeming with activity.
The region is also a treasure trove of underwater adventures, offering dramatic seascapes and a collection of fascinating shipwrecks just waiting to be uncovered. Each dive reveals a new story, whether it’s tracing the outlines of a sunken vessel or marveling at the underwater cliffs and rocky outcrops that shape South Devon’s seabed.

Our club is proud to own two RIBs, each fully equipped with state-of-the-art radios, echo sounders, electronic navigation systems, and essential safety gear. These vessels are housed in a purpose-built boatshed, which also accommodates our 4WD towing vehicle, air compressor, and a full range of training and safety equipment.

New members are always welcome at Totnes BSAC! Whether you’re a complete beginner eager to learn to dive or an experienced diver seeking an active club with a diverse dive programme, you’ll find a home with us.
We also warmly welcome visiting divers from all diving organisations. If you have a valid diving medical certificate and third-party insurance, why not join us for a dive as a guest and see what we’re all about?
