About our club

Welcome to Totnes BSAC!
Totnes BSAC was founded in 1973. Since then, we’ve grown into one of the largest and friendliest dive clubs in the UK. As a proud branch of the British Sub Aqua Club, we bring together around 100 members from Totnes and surrounding areas. Together, we share a deep passion for scuba diving.
Whether you’re a seasoned diver or just starting out, you’ll find a welcoming community here. In addition, we offer exciting dive trips and plenty of opportunities to learn and explore. As a result, members enjoy both adventure and personal growth through diving.
Join Our Volunteer-Run Diving Club in South Devon
Totnes BSAC is a volunteer-run diving club based in South Devon. We’re passionate about making scuba diving accessible, safe, and enjoyable for everyone. In fact, every membership fee goes directly toward supporting our diving activities. It also helps maintain our equipment and club facilities.
Moreover, our instructors and dive managers generously volunteer their time and expertise. Thanks to their dedication, we offer a welcoming and safety-focused environment for divers of all experience levels.
Explore South Devon’s Underwater World: Diving, Marine Life & Shipwrecks
South Devon diving offers an extraordinary underwater experience. Visibility often reaches 20–30 metres, which makes the crystal-clear waters ideal for scuba diving and snorkeling. As a result, divers can enjoy a vibrant marine ecosystem filled with life. You’ll see darting fish, intricate coral reefs, and hidden nooks teeming with activity.
Moreover, South Devon is renowned for its dramatic underwater landscapes. It also features historic shipwrecks that attract divers from across the UK. Whether you’re exploring a sunken vessel or admiring rocky outcrops, every dive reveals something new.

Our Diving Equipment & Facilities in South Devon

Each vessel is equipped with advanced radios, echo sounders, electronic navigation systems, and essential safety gear for scuba diving. In addition, both boats are stored in a purpose-built boatshed. This facility also houses a 4WD towing vehicle, a high-capacity air compressor for scuba tanks, and a full range of training and safety equipment.
Whether you’re preparing for a dive or learning new skills, our facilities are designed to support you. As a result, members enjoy a safe, well-equipped, and professional diving experience every time.
